LEARN HOW TO SELL ART ONLINE TODAY

Did you know that I have been selling my art online since the year 2000? My first online sale was with a London based online art website called “London Art”. I remember it was such a thrill to find out when I sold something. It also meant I just had to hop on a bus and drop my art off to the guy that ran the website from his own home in South London. It kind of amazed me that I could sell art online. Someone I didn’t know wanted my art even though they hadn’t seen it in the flesh.

Today there are so many websites that help artists sell art online that it can be overwhelming and it can be confusing to know who to trust. So I want to share three different ways how you can sell art online.

1 - Set up your own website and sell from wherever you are. However this can be hard if you don’t know how to build a website, you don’t have a huge following or just starting out. Plus some marketing skills are required.

2 - Use an approved art seller website like Saatchi Art. I’ve been with Saatchi from the beginning in 2005. I’ve sold a few paintings with them. Last month I sold two.

3 - POD’s or Print On Demand sites. You can use a print on demand site and add digitized versions of your art onto their products. This can be fun but also addictive. They print everything for you and when you get a sale they ship it to the customer. I’ve been selling something every month on Society6 since 2012.
